# rZUowpXYxu2zz9UJHey, I’m Seanie. I’ve been on Discord for a while and have experience moderating different servers, from small friend groups to larger communities. My role usually involved enforcing rules, managing bots, handling conflicts, and keeping things running smoothly. I’d love to help moderate this server because I enjoy building positive communities and making sure everyone has a good experience.
Technical & Moderation Skills
I’m familiar with Discord’s moderation tools, including roles, permissions, Automod, and bots like MEE6, Dyno, and Carl-bot. I’ve set up bots, auto-mod features, and custom commands before.
If someone is spamming or breaking rules, I’d warn them first. If they continue, I’d escalate with a timeout, mute, or ban if needed. If two people are arguing, I’d step in, remind them of the rules, and try to calm things down. If someone reports harassment in DMs, I’d gather proof, involve the mod team, and take appropriate action. If another mod was abusing power, I’d document it and report it to the admins.
Community Engagement & CultureI’d keep the server welcoming by being active, engaging with members, and ensuring fair moderation. If a new member breaks a rule, I’d guide them instead of punishing them right away. If a long time member turns toxic, I’d remind them of the rules and take action if needed. If a new member accidentally breaks a rule, I’d politely explain it and give them a chance to correct it. If a long-time member starts acting toxic, I’d remind them of the rules, talk to them privately, and take action if needed. I stay friendly but firm, fair rules make a better community. Balancing friendliness with enforcing rules is about being fair and consistent. I’d stay approachable but firm when needed. People respect rules more when they see they’re applied equally.
Hypothetical SituationsNo favoritism warn, mute, or ban as necessary. Lock channels, enable slow mode, ban raiders, and coordinate with mods. Correct it calmly with facts and clear up misunderstandings. Stay professional, explain my reasoning, and involve another mod if needed.
I can dedicate everyday from various periods of times to moderating and have experience working with a team. Good communication is key, whether through mod chats, meetings, or DMs.Do you have any specific expectations for new mods?
